Welcome to Our College
College was established in the academic year 1985-86. It is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, recognized by Dental Council of India, New Delhi and accredited by NAAC with ‘B’ grade. Located in the historical city of Chitradurga (with world famous Yelu Suthina Kote meaning a fort with seven circular walls) is one of the oldest Dental Colleges of the country and to its credit thousands of dental graduates has passed out of the institution. The city of Chitradurga is well connected by National highways and is just 200 km from the state capital, Bengaluru.
The Dental College and Hospital is developed as per the norms of the Dental Council of India, New Delhi and offers Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course. The college has an intake of 60 students per academic year and has got state of the art infrastructure with a team of dedicated and excellent faculty members with a vast teaching experience in their respective fields.
Since its inception, the college has developed into a centre for excellence, imparting quality education, generating competent, skilled manpower to face the scientific, technological, managerial and social challenges in the fast evolving global scenario with a high degree of credibility, integrity, ethical standards and social concerns.

SJM Dental College is thirty years young, active and lustrous educational institute under SJM Vidyapeetha started in the year 1964. The College Hospital is reputed for its excellent out patient record with treatment facilities available in all the specialties of Dentistry which also act as a platform for the students to get the clinical exposure needed as per the University guidelines. College has bagged several University ranks and has produced over 1500 number of Dental surgeons. |
A unique feature of our institution is the teacher guardianship, which enables an envelope of love and individual attention. The institute not only believes that the students become powerful by knowledge but also that they attain maturity with an empathetic understanding of human condition under which the society is striving for material progress. To prepare them for a life of harmony, to coexist with divergent situations, the students are encouraged to actively participate in our community development programs.
